Mekong Delta 2 Days Saigon - Ben Tre - Vinh Long

mekongDestinations: Experience living in the Mekong Delta and explore it by boat, bike. On this trip, you will be taken to Ben Tre- the kingdom of coconut trees in Vietnam and Mekong's untouched lands. In addition, you will be staying in traditional Vietnamese houses and will have opportunities to interact with the local people. Not only will you be able to visit the local floating market, but you can even help the locals cook some Vietnamese dishes.

Detail Itinerary
Day1: Sai Gon to Cai Be, Vinh Long and to Ben Tre (Lunch, dinner)
8.00 am Depature by bus for Cai Be (about 2.5 hrs). On arrival, we board on boat for visit the floating market and
cruise over the mighty mekong river (about 1.5km wide) to Dong Phu island. We start cycling one hour under the green canopy, explore the orchards and daily life of farmers. Following lunch break, we will cruise down mekong river to Cho Lach canals, cycling to discover the nursery gardens & fruit orchards around. Returning to our boat, we cruise again one hour to Ben Tre for the night. Overnight home stay in farmer house.
(40km cruise away, its location is denoted by the blue dot on the map to the right).
Day 2: Ben Tre to Sai Gon (Breakfast, lunch)
This day, we cycle total around 35km from morning until 3.00 pm with many stops and visit.
After breakfast, we start cycling 4hrs back on small trail along the river, see daily life of the locals, feeling lost on winding road under the green coconut canopy. The coconut palms that make Ben Tre famous in Viet nam.
On arrival in Ben Tre at noon time, we cruise down the busy branches of Mekong and into a peaceful canal. Visit an island orchard, lunch break with traditional meal, see the daily life of farmers and try exotic seasonal fruits unique to the region. Hammock siesta, then we cycle to explore this quiet area, call on coconut-candy workshop and other handicraft workshop (if time permitting) before coming back to our bus. Return to Sai Gon. End of tour.

mekong to 1Destinations: Highlight: The majority of Vietnam's fruits come from the Mekong Delta. Tien Giang is one the province supplies tropical fruits almost all year round. Cai Be floating market and its town are busy exchanging farm products everyday. People can find a variety of tropical fruits that are produced by farmers of this region in the markets of Saigon, Hue, and Ha Noi.

You will be picked up at your hotel in early morning and transfer with bikes to Long An. Ride to My Tho and cruising along
small creek to Mekong River estuary and stop over a garden on Con Phung (Phoenix Island) restaurant for Vietnamese lunch
The motorized boat cruises more along natural creeks and quiet village in Ben Tre. Visit orchards, bee - keeping farm, taste natural nd honey wine, enjoy tropical fruit,traditional music, see round a distillery, explore the local coconut candy production process, taste candy & coconut pulp.
Keep riding along the single track around Quoi An village in Ben Tre and stop at the pier for a boat row through the narrow canal with lush water-coconut trees on head back to the motorized boat, cruising to the Van heading HCM city. Arrival at your hotel in the late afternoon.
